For those of you who are here for the first time and didn’t get here from Bee’s blog, head over there to start at the beginning. Some of us on the hop are having more than one project, others are not. So you may see the same project from yesterday. No biggie, just make sure you entered in their giveaway. All of us have some great prizes to giveaway and Belinda is going to have two lucky winners. Just follow the rules on her blog post.
Now on to the project. I thought I would post the luminaries we made for our church’s upcoming Ladies Banquet (We are having a catered meal, mmmm. We get to relax while someone else does the cooking and cleaning). The luminary is also entered it in the Nutcrackers in November challenge two.
While the luminary itself is a Mason jar with dyed Epsom salt, the simple tag was made in Make the Cut. A scalloped circle under a circle. The stamp was a dollar bin special at Michaels along with the ribbon.
I went with a simple tag because of how many we had to make. There will be a few on each table. I have to say, I really like how the jar sparkles in the sunlight. We used sky blue food coloring from Wilton on the salt.
Here it is lit. Squeee, so cute. It will really set the ambiance. As most of you know by now, I like simple. Simple is good. These worked up pretty fast. Just think of the different colors you can make and the tags to go with any occasion. I’m thinking down home country look, a reddish colored salt with a kraft brown and red paper tag for my mother-in-law. She would love it.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project, so here is how to enter my giveaway if you haven’t already. I will be drawing a winner on Monday, December 5th. To enter, please follow the directions on Day 1’s post which can be found here. Only comments made on “DAY 1” will be entered into the giveaway.
Here is the line-up again if you didn’t hop the first day or want to go enjoy some more craftiness:
