Yes, you read that right. MY Father’s Day gift. I took my husband out Friday to try to get him to let me buy him something for Father’s Day. We even went to Harbor Freight, he said there was nothing in the store he wanted. Really? In a hardware store, nothing!?!? Oooo, the man is stubborn! Well, not one to waste a day out shopping with hubby, we went next door to JoAnn Fabric. Guess what? They had DCWV 12×12 paper stacks on sale. Half off! There were ones I had been dreaming about. But did I need more paper, he sees all the racks I have now. I kept saying how much I love the Generation Tech one. I am a complete nerd. The biggest geek he has ever seen. Surely, that stack was made for me! After sighing one more time and reminding him I do have an JoAnn Teacher Discount card for another 15% off because I home school, I walked away.
When I went to see where cutie-pie was, as he has a tendency to wander with a deer in the headlights look when he is in that store, he was loading his arms up with the most adorable stacks of paper. I asked in amazement what he was doing, his reply, “you have a blog now, right?”, “yes, yes” was mine. “Well, you have to do that stuff you do with paper to get people to want to look at it, right?” Ummm, who am I to argue with that logic?!? Yeah, yeah, sure, sure. If I make it they will come. I didn’t have the courage to tell him not that many people look at my blog. LOL
Aren’t they pretty though? Yeah, I know, I’m spoiled. But you know, he will tell you he is too. I spoil him right back. I love that man. I loved him even before he bought the paper. I just have to gush and say out loud how much of a man he is. He loves God first and foremost which in turn makes him the most wonderful husband to me and father to our two boys. Sometimes I don’t think they understand how much he sacrifices so they can have what they do. He teaches them to be hard workers, responsible, honest and an encourager. Love people more than yourself. That you work to support your family not just to have material things. Those things pass away eventually. It’s nice to have things but what you need most in life is your family around, serving the Lord with you.
While he didn’t want any monetary gift I need to give him something. I will give him the best help meet he could ever have and be by his side till one of us dies. Hopefully I go first, I don’t want to live one day without him. Make his home comfortable and peaceful, clean. I’m a little iffy on the cooking part. But he will always eat, maybe just not cooked by me. ^__^ I hear ol’ Bob makes a killer omelet!
I love you, Babydoll!! Happy Father’s Day! Oh, by the way, I bought paper this past Wednesday from Scrapbuck.com. hehehe I didn’t know you were going to get me more! At least I got a really good deal on it. It’s the good stuff. WorldWin DoubleMates. $6 for 50 sheets. Really good deal. hehehehe *runs and hides*
