Speaking of flew…witches do! Haha, listen to my mad rhymes. Since we really don’t do Halloween around our house, I stick to Autumn projects mostly. But when Bee threw this BOO up as a FreeBee, I just had to snatch it and give it a try. I have worked with her files before on one of my first Paper Doll challenges. They are as smooth as butter (as my youngest likes to say).
I decided to flip the script on this one. She originally made BOO the base with the hat as an accent. My brain works backwards so I thought it would be cool to use the BOO with the eyes and make it look like the witch’s hat has a little surprise riding along. The only cardstock I know I used was Recollections by Michaels for the orange (which is darker in person) and DCWV Latte for the purple. The ever fabulous Trendy Twine in Orange Licorice graces the hat’s brim.
I probably shouldn’t have been watching Batman Begins while making a Halloween card. It gave me bats on the brain too. Love me some bats, especially when they look like Christian Bale! I remembered I had a bat in the Halloween Simple Shapes Cut Its set from Lettering Delights. It is the same one just cut in three slightly different sizes.
I love this picture of the one bat. He looks like he is wearing a toupee. *snicker* Maybe this one is Gary Oldham from Dracula. In hindsight, I would use black wire but I only had silver on hand and it was a little thicker than I would have liked. I didn’t think putting black ink on it would dry and it would probably come out looking pretty cruddy anyway. So I let it be.
Yes, the eyes are glowing. I’d hope that would come across in the final pictures. Since I had used the one with the eyes in the o’s (she gives you two different versions of BOO), I thought it would be cool if the eyes glowed. I had some glow in the dark paint from a few years ago I dropped on there.
This is also a fully functioning card. I made a mini flap and glued it to the back. It is going to have to be a hand delivered one because of the size and the bats. I am giving it to my nieces and not telling them the eyes glow. When they put it up in their room, shut off the lights and wham, instant pleasure for ol’ Aunt B! My sister wont get a decent nights sleep and since she doesn’t read my blog, she will be none the wiser. Muahahahahahaha!
I hope you enjoyed the trip into my demented mind. Please go check out SVGs by Bee and get her FreeBees! She just opened her store this month but I have been following her blog for quite some time. A very strange woman if I do say so myself. You know what they say, “birds (or in this case Bs) of a feather flock together”. Go show her some love and tell her Becki sent you, then go load up some SVGs at her store. She has the best prices in town, guaranteed! Now get to bed and don’t let the eerie, glowing eyes get to you too…………muhahahahahahahahaha

I love it ! ! ! Gotta see if I still have some of that glow in the dark paint. I could use it on a lot of projects. Thanks for sharing.

Your card looks wonderful and is full of inventive ideas, like the glowing eyes and the bats on wire. I plan to use a few ideas when I cut my own Boo file. I hope mine looks half as good.

Thanks ladies! Bee, I hope you did read that I KNOW I’m strange. That is probably why we like each other so much. LOL Even the checkout lane teenagers at Kroger think so. My sister overheard them talking about the strange lady with the two boys one day. Yep, that was me. ^__^

For one who doesn’t “do” Halloween, that rocks! I love how the bats are circling!!! How cool is that. I am a new follower. Any friend of Bee is a friend of mine. I love her humor and craftiness. :)) Have a great school year!
