Along with the Michaels Budget and Menu planners, I purchased the zipper pouch that comes with a ruler and 3 rolls of washi tape. The only problem is it didn’t fit into my new Filofax Domino planner. Since it is made for their binders, I had to tweak it with new holes. But how do I get rid of the existing ones?
Add some pretty scrapbook paper, that’s how! As far as the height of the pouch, it fits well into the Filofax Domino. So out come my supplies and right to work.
I used Sweet Summertime from Echo Park because it’s a nice heavy paper. It should hold up nicely due to the quality. The strip was cut to about 2″ across and folded in the middle so that 1″ will be seen on each side. I can’t remember what the length was. Only that it was cut to hang over both sides of the pouch.
In order to get the paper to stick to the zipper pouch, I added heavy duty double sided tape on the back side. I then attached the paper to the pouch.
I was careful to make sure the cute pinwheels wouldn’t be cut in half when lining it up on the pouch. Make sure everything is secured down nice and smooth. It would have been better to plug up the holes before putting the paper down. I only thought of this after. So I put scotch tape on the inside so the existing holes wouldn’t get anything inside sticky.
Once again my “The Cinch” comes in handy with my planner supplies. Make sure you test the punch on a scrap sheet of paper the same length as your project. I didn’t do this and my holes are a little off. I was just working off the punch settings I have for an A5 size sheet. I should have remembered this pouch is a little taller, so the numbers would be slightly different. Oh well, the zipper pouch still fits the Filofax with no overhang. If this zipper pouch gives up the ghost, I will hopefully remember for next time.
As you can see from the above picture, the right side has a bit bigger margin than the left. All in all, it came out pretty good!
Now I have a nice little zipper pouch for my new Filofax. I did take out the washi tape so there would be more room for paperclips and pens. A note on the washi tape, it’s kind of crappy. It’s definitely not as nice as the other brands. So you may not want to purchase the pouch if you just want the tape.
